Did Someone Say Tornado?

Hello Everyone!!!

I heard Utah is still pretty frozen..... but Florida is just as bright as ever. Although Tuesday it wasn't.... Hermana Stowell and I were biking and boy the clouds got real black real quick. So we pulled off to get coverage before it started to rain. Good thing because it was BAD. It was pouring so bad and the wind was really strong. Then after
15 minutes or so it started hailing. The wind and the rain picked and it was terrifying. It was then that we opened up our weather app and saw that we were actually under tornado watch.... it's fine. We survived. We actually got stuck under a stairwell with another woman and were able to share the gospel with her. #Win.

Thursday was such an incredible and spiritual day. We had ZTM (Zone Training Meeting) and I just cried through a good chunk of it. I was asked to bear my "dying" testimony on how I have found joy in missionary work. Needless to say I bawled. Then an Elder gave a training on Becoming a consecrated missionary. It touched my heart so much. Again, there is so much Joy to be found as we consecrate ourselves to the work of the Lord. I have been blessed with so many special experiences that are sure to turn into sacred and tender memories. Then my lovely hijita who sings like a pure angel sang a song called "Thy will be done". Again- bawled. It's not about what I want. It is, has been, and always will be what He wants. The will of Lord, not mine. Therein also can joy be found.

As if this week couldn't get any more sacred, we were able to go to the temple on Friday. I LOVE THE TEMPLE!!! There is no other place on this earth that I feel happier or more at peace. I relished in the Love of my Savior and Heavenly Father. I am so grateful for the Plan of Salvation!

That night we had a lesson with an investigator. When we got there their house was in utter chaos. Their young girls were running around and we could tell the parents were at their wits end. After helping calm everything down we were able to have a super spiritual lesson about true conversion. At the end we gathered all their kids together and prayed. It was amazing how different their house felt as we left than how we arrived. They were happier and more peaceful. The gospel truly blesses families.

I love you all!!! I hope all is well and you are finding joy each day.
If you're not, shoot me an email.

A Miracle Off of Curry Ford

Wow. Hermana Stowell and I started off this transfer on fire!

This week's miracle is named Pedro. He is an investigator Hermana Stowell and I "found" a few weeks ago. He is married to a member that we didn't know so we decided to stop by and introduce ourselves and they immediately welcomed us in! We found out her husband wasn't a member but was interested. So we had our first official lesson this week and I couldn't believe what I was hearing. They talked about how they wanted to go on a mission and Pedro said "I was baptized before as a catholic, but I want to do it all right this time. I want to be baptized a Mormon!" We set a date for April 14! They are awesome and I feel so blessed to have met them. The crazy thing is that even though Hermana Stowell and I have both served here 6 months, we didn't know this LA member. We knew that he Lord had been keeping them until they were ready. The Lord's timing is everything!

Our investigator Alex also accepted an invitation to be baptized. I taught him when I was here 6 months ago. He has come such a long way!

If nothing else, I came back to Semoran for him.

I hope all is well! Florida is a blessed place and I am loving every minute!

"Joy Cometh in the Morning"

Well looks like I am finishing my mission with Hermana Stowell here in the lovely Semoran! I am so excited! The area is doing really well and we work really well together!

I'll just tell y'all about my favorite investigators right now. We are teaching three sisters that remind me so much of my sisters. They have such a sincere desire to learn their purpose and who they are.
Teaching them is always the highlight of my week!

I read a talk by President Nelson this week called "Joy cometh in the morning". I strongly suggest that everyone read it. It is incredible!
Since then, I have woken up every morning a lot more joyful. :) I included a little snipit to get you all excited to read it.

“In order to experience true joy in the morning, or at any time, at least three factors are needed. You need to feel good about the people with whom you live and work--your companions in life. You must feel good about yourself--not in any sense of conceit, but simply a proper esteem for yourself, well deserved. And possibly most important, you must feel good about your relation to God and sincerely love him.”

Things are just wonderful here in Florida! I wish you all a very joyful week!

Motivated By a Love for the People

This was a busy week in the Semoran area. We had some fuerte lessons with investigators this week but it all paid off because our investigators came to church!!!!

I had a lot of really good studies this week. I was studying in Alma

26 and verse 32 hit me really hard.

"For behold, they had rather sacrifice their lives than even to take the life of their enemy; and they have buried their weapons of war deep in the earth, because of their love towards their brethren."

The anti-nephi-Lehi's were motivated by love. If we truly love God then we will bury our "weapons of rebellion" to know Him more. Not only that, we should motivated by love to serve in our church callings. That is something that really helped me this week. I love the people here in Florida and I LOVE my Savior therefore I peddled my bike a little harder, smiled a little brighter, and served a little more fervently.
