Hello
everyone!
This
week was something else. I'll start off with a funny story.
Once
upon a time there were two sister missionaries who had no miles left to drive
the car. Luckily it was a beautiful day to bike. So these two sister
missionaries set off to teach some awesome investigators. They were cruising
along enjoying the Florida sun when all of a sudden they came across an
obstacle. A narrow passage through a fence. They thought they could make it,
but something went terribly wrong. The next thing to be heard was a crash
followed by a loud sound of air being blown from the front tire of one of the
bikes. Needless to say these sister missionaries were without bikes. The story
ends with these sister missionaries walking 5 kilometers to their dinner
appointment. All ended well. The bike got fixed.
The
rest of the week was stellar. WHAT AN AMAZING CONFERENCE! I don't know about
any of you, but I sure received a powerful witness that Russell M. Nelson
is a true prophet called of God. There are bright things on the horizon in the
Lord's church. I personally loved Elder Bednar's talk about Meekness. That is a
quality I strive to develop so his talk was one of those "oh my gosh this
is directed right at me" kind of talks.
We
had several amazing lessons! Our investigator Pedro who is getting baptized
here in 2 weeks is on serious fire. He had such an amazing time at church last
week that he wanted to keep that spirit with him all day and went home and
spent the entire evening watching church movies. In our lessons this week HE
taught US the importance of tithing, keeping the sabbath day holy, and the 5
steps of the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Faith, Repentance, Baptism, Gift of the
Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end.) I feel incredibly blessed to know
him!
I
love being a missionary! I loved all the talks about ministering! Ministering
to the Lord's children has brought true joy to my life. I know that we have a
living prophet today who receives direct revelation from God on how to direct
His church. I challenge each of us to head the counsel we received this last
weekend. Their efforts are in vain if we do not do our part and study their
talks and apply the things they taught. This is the true church of Christ. He stands
at the head.
